Cardi B Reportedly Hosting This Year’s SummerSlam

WWE is reportedly hiring Cardi B as the host of this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.

During tonight’s episode of SmackDown, Cardi B’s “Up” song played during a commercial for this year’s event.

Andrew Zarian was first to hint at Cardi B potentially hosting SummerSlam during an episode of Mat Men Podcast on Thursday.

He confirmed the news during Friday Night SmackDown, tweeting – “I can confirm that I was told cardi b is the host for SummerSlam this year.”

Wrestlevotes seemingly confirmed the news tweeting, “The deal isn’t just for a PPV theme song, hint hint…”

Fightful Select (subscription required) has spoken to WWE sources, who have confirmed, “they’re hoping they can bring Cardi B in as a host for the show”

Earlier this year, WWE President Nick Khan spoke on WWE wanting to attract younger audiences, confirming WWE has its eyes on the music star, who has been vocal about past interest in the product.

WWE SummerSlam will take place on Saturday, August 21, 2021. WWE will be revealing the venue for the event on June 5.
