NXT hosted their first event inside the remodelled Capitol Wrestling Center this past Sunday for NXT Takeover 31.
During the event, Vic Joseph, Beth Phoenix, and Wade Barrett were used for commentary, but only one of them was present in the building.
Beth Phoenix and Wade Barrett were calling the action remotely, and stand in announcers were used in the venue.
The female announcer seen many times during the show was independent wrestler Kaci Lennox, and the male announcer was EVOLVE referee Steven Kai Douglas.
Douglas has recently done extra work for WWE during RAW Underground, and Friday Night SmackDown.
Douglas took to Instagram to speak about his experience.
What an amazing experience on the first night in the new Capitol Wrestling Center .. So grateful to be able to sit in with the broadcast team and have the best seat in the house for what was an incredible NXT Takeover 31
