Jerome Young, better known to wrestling fans as New Jack has passed away at the age of 58.
As first reported by PWInsider, New Jack suffered a heart attack in North Carolina, where he called home in recent years. His wife Jennifer confirmed the passing.

He broke into the business in 1992, training under Ray Candy and making his pro-wrestling debut for USWA. He went on to win the USWA Tag Team Championship the following year.
New Jack was best known for his time in ECW, joining the promotion 1995 with Mustafa Saed, collectively they were known as The Gangstas.
After ECW became defunct, New Jack continued to work the independent scene, notably for XPW. He also had brief stints in TNA before retiring in 2013.
He came out of retirement a few years later, and has continued to take bookings. His last match was last month at ICW No Holds Barred 11 in Tampa, FL.
