2020 PWI 500 Released, Jon Moxley Tops Rankings

Pro Wrestling Illustrated is set to release their annual PWI 500 list, with a special collectors edition magazine, celebrating 30 years ranking wrestling talent from all over the globe.

This year’s edition features Jon Moxley on the cover, as he has ranked #1 in the 2020 PWI 500.

The latest issue, which hits newsstands on September 22, features an interview with Jon Moxley, speaking on his #1 ranking for this year’s list.

“I’m not looking for external validation. But PWI was such a big part of my childhood. To be number one … It’s pretty cool.”

According to Pro Wrestling Illustrated, the following criteria is used to pick the rankings on the list.

The evaluation period for this year’s PWI 500 is July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020. The criteria for ranking are as follows:

  • Win-loss record
  • Technical ability
  • Influence on the sport
  • Success against the highest grade of competition
  • Success against the most diverse competition
  • Activity

Last year, Seth Rollins had the honor of being ranked as #1, Jon Moxley was ranked at #20.
