Impact Wrestling has made the decision to remove Michael Elgin from future programming amid sexual misconduct allegations.
The following statement was issued Friday morning to PWInsider.
“Impact Wrestling announced that Michael Elgin will not be appearing in any further Impact Wrestling programming.
Michael Elgin was suspended on 6/22, following allegations of sending unsolicited photos to independent wrestler Kaitlin Diemond.
Impact hasn’t specifically stated Elgin has been released from the promotion, but sources within the company believe he will not be seen again. He is gone from the roster page, and all merchandise has been been removed from Shop Impact.
The company recently released Joey Ryan and Dave Crist for allegations brought to light from the #SpeakingOut movement on social media.
Yesterday, Impact Wrestling announced the termination of Tessa Blanchard, days before her contract with the company was set to expire.
Both Elgin and Blanchard were set to be in the main event of Slammiversary next month. The company will now have to make creative changes leading into the pay-per-view, as all content has already been filmed, and no additional television tapings are scheduled.
The vacant Impact World Championship will be crowned at the Slammiversary pay-per-view, which only has three competitors left, Eddie Edwards, Trey, and Ace Austin. It’s unknown who the replacements for Tessa Blanchard and Michael Elgin will be.
This story is developing, and updates will be provided as they are known.
