Only a few hours after updating their social media profiles and hinting at a new beginning, Nikki and Brie Garcia have revealed their departure from WWE.
In an interview with People magazine, the duo formerly known as the Bella Twins confirmed their exit from the company.
“From this point forward, we are officially the Garcia Twins, Brie and Nikki Garcia,” they announced. The decision to leave WWE came when it was time to renew their contracts, with Nikki explaining that they “just knew it was time to embark on the next chapter.”
Throughout their tenure with WWE, the Bella Twins achieved notable success. Nikki held the WWE Divas Championship twice, with her second reign being the longest in the title’s history at 301 days. Brie also captured the Divas Championship once, and both sisters played significant roles in the women’s division during their time with the company.
In addition to their rebranding, the Garcia Twins have a new show called “The Nikki & Brie Show” lined up. The show will be broadcast on Sirius XM and other podcast platforms every Wednesday.
The twins were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021 as part of the 2020 class, with the ceremony being postponed by a year due to the pandemic. Their most recent in-ring appearance was in the 30-woman Royal Rumble match the previous year.
Despite being scheduled to take part in the Raw 30th Anniversary show, the Garcia Twins were removed from the event a week before it took place. The reasons for their withdrawal remain unclear, but fans eagerly await their next moves as they continue to evolve their careers beyond WWE.
