WWE Discussing SummerSlam Locations
WWE is looking to run this year’s SummerSlam event with fans present.
Last week, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated confirmed with WWE sources, SummerSlam will be held in front of a live crowd.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has revealed some potential locations for this year’s SummerSlam, based on internal WWE chatter. There has been talk to hold to the event in Phoenix, Arizona, or somewhere in Texas. The company is hoping to run the show outdoors in a stadium.
WWE President Nick Khan recently spoke with Variety, revealing when the company is back on the road, they would like to tour full-time, rather than one-off events with a live audience
In 2019, The City Of Orlando made multiple bids to host future SummerSlam and Survivor Series events. It should be noted, these bids were made prior to the pandemic.
WWE originally scheduled to produce the 2020 Summerslam at TD Garden in Boston. The last SummerSlam event with a live audience was at Toronto’s Scotiabank arena in 2019.
