For the first-time, Pro Wrestling Illustrated will be introducing a list ranking tag-team, making it the third list in the publication’s annual rankings.

PWI “Tag Team 50” will rank teams from around the world, regardless of gender. The ranking will be part of the February 2021 issue which will be released in November.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated issued the following.

30 years ago, Pro Wrestling Illustrated debuted the PWI “500,” a list of the best singles wrestlers on the planet. It was followed in 2008 by our first-ever women’s ranking, which is now known as the Women’s 100. This year’s edition of that list is in our January 2021 issue, available digitally starting next Thursday, October 15, with print preorders beginning that morning.

Today, I’m excited to announce the third list in a trifecta of annual rankings: Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s “Tag Team 50.” This new list will rank tandems from across the globe, regardless of gender, based on a special set of criteria we’ve never used before! The “Tag Team 50” will be part of our February 2021 issue, which will be full of stories and columns about tag team wrestling. (It goes on sale digitally 11/19, with print preorders the same day.)

Pro Wrestling Illustrated released its annual PWI 500 last month, ranking Jon Moxley in the number one position.

The publication will be releasing its “Women’s 100” later this month.
