This week’s edition of Monday Night RAW saw Edge make his return where he cut a promo and declared himself for this Sunday’s Royal Rumble match.
This announcement lead fans to question why Edge returned on RAW instead of the Royal Rumble. The reason for this has now been revealed by Fightful Select.
Fightful Select (subscription required), reports that the decision was made for Edge to return on Raw due to fans not being in attendance for the Rumble. It was noted that if there were an actual crowd, the surprise would have been kept for the match, however instead was used to create a buzz for the pay-per-view in hope of attracting more fans.
