Andrade Requests To Leave WWE

Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza, better known to wrestling fans as Andrade has requested his release from World Wrestling Entertainment.

As first reported by Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc, Andrade asked for his release while at the RAW taping this past Monday.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has confirmed the news, stating, “had one source on the Raw side of things confirm this.”

Earlier today, Andrade’s name began trending on Twitter after he changed his username from ‘AndradeCienWWE’ to ‘AndradeElIdolo’. He also removed any mention of WWE from his Twitter profile.

Andrade has not appeared on WWE television in several months, last working the 10/12/20 edition of Monday Night RAW against Angel Garza.

During the WWE Draft last fall, Andrade was not included, but was expected to remain on RAW. He reportedly underwent a “minor elective procedure” which is the reason he initially was kept off television.

In 2019 Andrade filed a trademark for the name “La Sombra” and ‘El Idolo’ via ‘Gimmick Attorney Michael E. Dockins. The trademarks were filed for entertainment services, and merchandise as a professional wrestler. If he leaves WWE, it’s likely he will use one of those names.

It’s unknown if WWE has granted his release, but he is still listed as a member of the RAW roster on WWE.com
