Another NXT Star’s WWE Contract Is Expiring Soon

Former NXTUK Champion Pete Dunne’s NXT contract is reportedly expiring very soon according to a report from Fightful Select.

The report noted that Dunne’s contact is up ‘after SummerSlam weekend’, however it should be noted that Fightful haven’t yet confirmed this with either WWE or Dunne.

It was further noted that the situation is ‘similar to that of Adam Cole’s’, however it’s not exactly clear what this could mean.

Dunne signed with WWE shortly after coming up short in the United Kingdom Championship Tournament to Tyler Bate. He then went on to defeat Bate for the WWE UK Title just three months later at TakeOver Chicago.

Dunne held the Title for 685 days before losing to Walter, and has since moved to the States where he has added the NXT Tag Team Championships to his list of accomplishments in WWE.

Whether Dunne will re-sign with WWE is currently unknown.
