Big news for WWE’s NXT UK
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, English-New Zealand star Bea Priestley is expected to sign with the yellow-and-black brand division, a major get as Priestley has been one of the biggest emerging talents from the European scene.
She briefly appeared for AEW prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, and was unable to remain with the promotion due to the travel restrictions put in place from the virus. In the past she has also worked with PROGRESS, STARDOM, Defiant Wrestling, and accompanied current IWGP World Heavyweight champion Will Ospreay in NJPW.
Last month, Priestley wrapped up her commitments in Japan, losing to Utami Hayashishita in a World of STARDOM Championship match. Following the match, she revealed it was her last match for the promotion.
The report adds that no one can say anything due to WWE rules, “but Bea Priestley is almost surely headed to NXT U.K”.. Priestley will join a division that has been dominated by current UK women’s champion, Kay Lee Ray, who won the title from Toni Storm back at Takeover Cardiff.
Stay tuned.
