WWE will be presenting a cinematic match at their Extreme Rules pay-per-view next month.
As first reported by Ringside News, WWE is planning a cinematic match between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship at the PPV.
Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. has confirmed that story, adding more details on what’s in store for the match.
According to the report, the match will be a cross between the Terminator and a horror movie, noting Wyatt’s ability to revive himself.
The company has scouted filming locations, and the match is set to be shot at an undisclosed location outdoors at night.
The storytelling in the match will have various scenes retelling the past and the present between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman. They want to relive what made the Boneyard Match special, “but in a Bray Wyatt kind of way”.
Bray Wyatt, Jeremy Borash, and Triple H are said to be heavily involved in creating the match. Michael P.S Hayes, who has been involved in past cinematic matches will sit this one out, due to planned hip surgery.
WWE Extreme Rules will air on Sunday July 19 on the WWE Network.
