WWE announcer Nigel McGuinness is expected to return to WWE after being furloughed this past April with dozens of other WWE employees.
Mike Johnson recently noted on PWInsider Elite (subscription required), the NXT announcer is expected to be back with the company. The news comes weeks before WWE will begin restarting NXT UK programming from the BT Studios in London.
It’s unknown if McGuinness will be brought back for the main NXT brand or NXT UK. WWE is currently in negotiations with Stu Bennett, better known as Wade Barrett to come on as a full-time announcer. WWE does have a spot to fill with Mauro Ranallo leaving the company.
Nigel McGuinness signed with WWE in 2017 following a recommendation from Michael Cole. His work has been showcased on NXT, 205 Live, WWE Main Event, as well as the WWE United Kingdom Tournament.
As more details are known on his status, an update will be provided.
