Rey Mysterio Meets With WWE

Following the “Eye For An Eye” match at Extreme Rules, Rey Mysterio has been dealing with a kayfabe eye injury and didn’t not appear on Monday Night RAW.

Rey Mysterio has been working without a WWE contract, and has essentially been working on a handshake deal with the company.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite, Rey Mysterio met with WWE officials on Thursday, July 16 in Stamford, CT to discuss a new deal. It’s unknown if any deal was reached.

It should be noted that Rey Mysterio was at the WWE Performance Center Monday for the RAW tapings. As of this report, it’s unknown if he will be making an appearance on next week’s episode, which has already been taped.

WWE pre-taped the “Eye For An Eye” match prior to the Extreme Rules broadcast. The original recording had the use of prosthetic makeup, but was nixed due to Vince McMahon not liking the final product.
