Tessa Blanchard’s future in professional wrestling has reportedly been revealed.
Tessa Blanchard was fired by IMPACT Wrestling and stripped of the IMPACT World Championship in June of last year after reportedly refusing to send in promos from home amid the pandemic.
Several months prior, Blanchard received several bullying accusations from various names within the professional wrestling industry. Blanchard addressed the allegations in an Instagram post, however it yet to show up on another major promotion.
Now, according to a new report from Fightful Select (subscription required), Blanchard will be making her return to professional wrestling.
The report noted that WOW (Women Of Wrestling) are expected to announce their relaunch on Wednesday, with Blanchard being planned to join the promotion. Another unnamed former WOW talent is also planned for the relaunch, however other than that a roster is not in place, and the relaunch is not planned to take place imminently.
The all-women’s promotion ran from 2000-2019, with several breaks between programming.
Back in August, a vignette was posted to a new account on Twitter teasing the launch of the NGW Federation in 2022. A woman was shown in the vignette, with many speculating that it could be Blanchard.
The report noted that these teasers are connected to the WOW relaunch, with LA Lakers owner Jeanie Buss being connected to the project as she’s the owner of WOW.
Fightful reached out to nearly a dozen former WOW talents, however they hadn’t heard of the relaunch, with many not hearing from WOW creator David McLane since last year when he requested them to not post anything regarding Blanchard’s bullying allegations.
It was further noted that several additional names had been contacted for the relaunch, however Blanchard was the only name to land with the company. Whether she has signed a contract is currently unknown, however it was noted that it is planned.
