One of the many talents released by WWE over the last few months was former NXT cruiserweight champion and Raw tag champion Buddy Murphy. The Best Kept Secret was involved in a few different main roster angles, including an odd love story with the Aalyah Mysterio that even he admitted made him uncomfortable.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Murphy’s talents are being courted as both IMPACT Wrestling and AEW have an interest in bringing him in.
While AEW is already rumored to be signing Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) and possibly CM Punk, the addition of Murphy could get lost in the shuffle but the report states that AEW does have interest in him.
It was also recently announced that Murphy will be taking on AEW star Brian Cage at the September 18th BCW event from the legendary 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. At that show, he will be working under his real name, Matt Adams.
