Both Championships Reportedly Up For Grabs At Wrestlemania 35
Charlotte Flair captured the Smackdown Women’s Championship this past Tuesday on Smackdown, after defeating Asuka in an unadvertised match.
Wrestlemania 35’s main event now has both the RAW and Women’s Champion in a Triple Threat Match alongside Becky Lynch.
According to Dave Meltzer, the tagline for the match is “Winner Take All”, or “All On The Line”, which means someone could leave Wrestlemania 35 holding both titles.
What the tagline means exactly is not clear, but will be finalized on RAW on 4/1 in Washington, DC.
As of right now, the idea is that if Charlotte Flair or Ronda Rousey lose, the person who beats them gets their title. If this is the case, Rousey or Flair could end up with both titles if they win the match. The most likely scenario is Becky Lynch pinning either Charlotte Flair and winning the Smackdown title, or pinning Ronda Rousey and winning the RAW title.
The decision has a lot to do with whether Ronda Rousey plans to stick around after Wrestlemania, or take her scheduled time off from the company.
The WWE has no long-term plan to unify or merge the championships.
