WWE will gain access to the Tropicana Field this Saturday to begin to set up their ThunderDome
WWE’s contract with the Amway Center expired on November 25th, but will continue to run shows in the arena for the first week of December.
Fightful Select (subscription required) reports that WWE will continue to run shows at the Amway Center until at least December 7th. The report also noted that WWE’s setup time with Tropicana Field will be much longer than that of the Amway Center, possibly even twice as long.
As of the last word, WWE will get to Tropicana Field this Saturday and run through December 10. The company is expecting a much longer setup than they had for the Amway Center — possibly even twice as long.
WWE has announced the first show at Tropicana Field will be the December 11 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
WrestleVotes previously reported that WWE want to have live fans in some capacity at the Royal Rumble, which is likely to take place inside the ThunderDome. It was also noted that WWE want to begin traditional live arena shows with fans starting the night after WrestleMania 37.
