Stardom Likely To Distance Itself From NXT UK Talent

The Stardom promotion in Japan is likely not booking any NXT UK talent moving forward due to restrictions from the WWE. The women’s promotion has been given the green light to book women under NXT UK contracts according to Dave Meltzer, but the company is likely going to pass on having talent work up-coming shows.

Stardom was told by women on the UK roster that they would be allowed to tour with the promotion, but WWE had some rules around the bookings.

Restrictions Include:

  • The WWE would have to approve all dates ahead of time
  • NXT UK talent could not work with any talent under contract with Ring of Honor or World Of Sport
  • WWE could pull NXT UK talent from dates on a moments notice

The restrictions did not include talent working with Impact Wrestlers. WWE agreed to let the Street Profits work against LAX for EVOLVE, but Impact was the one who pulled out of those bookings. Impact Star Jordynne Grace worked twice in the last week against NXT UK star Toni Storm for both EVE and Progress. The booking with EVE was the last match for Storm due to new restrictions.
