Text Message John Laurinaitis Sent To WWE Talent After Cuts 

On Wednesday, WWE released 6 wrestlers from the company, including Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Santana Garrett, Ruby Riott, Buddy Murphy, and Lana. The news came as a shock to many both inside and outside the business.

The reason behind the releases is “budget cuts” according to a text message obtained by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

John Laurinaitis, who serves as GM of Talent sent the RAW and SmackDown roster a mass message Wednesday night.

Due to Budget cuts the following talent were released today. Braun Strowman, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Santana Garrett, Ruby Riott, and Aleister Black. – John Laurinaitis

In March, Laurinaitis returned to his role as Head of Talent Relations (General Manager, Talent), reporting directly to WWE’s Executive Vice President of Operations, Brad Blum.
