McMahon Fires Writer After His Name Was Mentioned During Hall of Fame Speech
Vince McMahon fired a member of the WWE creative team this past Saturday during the WWE Hall Of Fame.
According to PWInsider, WWE creative team member Robert Evans was fired at the Hall Of Fame ceremony after a speech he produced mentioned Vince McMahon by name. Evans was fired by McMahon personally atGorilla Position backstage inside Barclay’s Center .
Although it was become a running joke that McMahon’s name is never to be mentioned during the Hall of Fame ceremony, it is a real rule that the Chairman of the company has made very clear.
McMahon’s name was mentioned during the Bret Hart speech, and multiple times during DX’s Hall Of Fame induction. X-Pac confirmed the story on his podcast, stating he felt bad a writer was fired due to the mention of McMahon’s name.
“I’m not sure whether it was during Bret’s segment, I think Bret mentioned Vince a bunch of times, man Vince got really hot and I think someone might have gotten fired. And then we said it like, a million times and no one got fired. Vince was pissed, and I get it, that’s a thing for him, and like, it’s his company.”
Evans took to Twitter stating “I Quit WWE”
