Will Ospreay was pulled from yesterday’s G1 Climax event following an announced from New Japan Pro Wrestling.
New Japan noted that Ospreay suffered a neck injury, and his next match scheduled for July 18th is still to be determined, pending medical evaluation.
Will Ospreay has suffered a neck injury and will miss action on Monday July 15 in Hokkaido.
Ospreay is not suffering from any skeletal or nervous issues. His status for the next G1 Climax event on Thursday July 18 will be determined after Ospreay undergoes thorough medical evaluation.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Ospreay suffered a stinger during his match with SANADA on night 3 of the tournament in Tokyo. Ospreay noted he was in a lot of pain, and is hopeful he will continue to work the G1 tournament.

Ospreay was scheduled to team with Yuya Uemura and Yoga Tsuji and face Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger, Kota Ibushi, and Shota Umino. The match was changed to a tag-team match with Yota Tsuji and Shoot Umino facing Kota Ibushi and Jushin Liger.
