WWE has shown interest in signing former Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard.
According to Dave Meltzer on Sunday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has shown interest in Tessa Blanchard, sending “feelers out” to the 24 year old independent star.
Impact Wrestling terminated Tessa Blanchard’s contract this past week, days before it was scheduled to expire. Blanchard was scheduled to defend the Impact World Championship at Slammiversary on July 18.
According to Fightful Select, Tessa Blanchard is not bound to a 90-day non-compete clause, which would mean she would be free to sign with another promotion. Those backstage at Impact feel that she would get interest from AAA and WWE, but not AEW, despite her father Tully Blanchard working for the company,
Blanchard has been in Mexico with her fiancée Daga, and has not returned to the United States during the pandemic.
In 2016, Tessa Blanchard worked several matches for WWE, under the NXT banner, and as part of the Mae Young Classic.
