Fightful Select (subscription required) spoke to several wrestlers and staff who denied Triple H saying “anything resembling that they were ‘bullied’ off of Wednesday night”.
The report added, Triple H focused on the reasons why the move to Tuesdays would be positive. He also said the change in nights has been in the works for quite some time.
Original Report:
Team Meeting Held Before NXT Television
WWE will officially be moving their weekly NXT show on the USA Network to Tuesday nights beginning 4/13.
Ahead of this week’s NXT television taping, a team meeting was held with talent. Dave Meltzer revealed some of the key points from the meeting during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
“Team meeting before the show tonight about the move to Tuesday. They started out talking about how six years ago at Wrestlemania 31, how the little NXT promotion sold out a show, and look how far we’ve come.”
It was then brought up how All Elite Wrestling began running Dynamite on Wednesday nights in an attempt to “bully” NXT.
“They’ve always been on Wednesday night’s, and then the competition came to their night, and tried to bully them, which by the way is the opposite of what they told the talent 18-months ago
“Now they have RAW as the lead-in, and they have the night to themselves, everything is going to change”
Earlier this week, WWE issued a press release officially announcing NXT’s move to Tuesday nights, as well as signing a contract extension with USA Network.
Triple H commented on the move: “The move to Tuesdays provides a new opportunity for us to grow the NXT brand and enables our partner, USA Network, to continue to build its strong portfolio of sports and entertainment programming.”
