The WWE CEO could be returning to the ring this April.

During Friday’s SmackDown, it was announced that Vince McMahon would be a special guest on Thursday’s edition of ‘The Pat McAfee Show‘. This comes shortly after Brock Lesnar was a guest on the show, in an interview that was widely praised.

This will be McMahon’s first long form interview since 2015, which was when he appeared on ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s ‘Broken Skull Sessions’.

Following the announcement, a report emerged revealing that McMahon and McAfee are expected to set up a program soon, likely leading to a match at WrestleMania 38.

According to Post Wrestling, the two are expected to be involved with WrestleMania in some way, with their program ‘most likely’ leading to an official match on the card.

Brad Shepard recently reported  McMahon was considering an in-ring return at WrestleMania, so while it hasn’t been confirmed that he’ll be facing McAfee, it seems likely.

McMahon hasn’t shied away from being physical in recent years, most notably taking a headbutt from Kevin Owens in 2017. His last official match took place in 2012 and was against CM Punk.

Pat McAfee has had two matches in WWE thus far. His first was against Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver XXX, and his second was against The Undisputed Era at NXT TakeOver WarGames. Both matches, which he lost, took place in 2020.

The two will likely begin their program during ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ this Thursday, which will be available to watch on YouTube.
