Samoa Joe originally planned for Monday Night RAW

WWE will be presenting a big episode of Monday Night RAW tonight, headlined by Bobby Lashley defending the WWE Championship against Randy Orton.

The company had plans for NXT Champion Samoa Joe to appear on tonight’s episode according to script details obtained by Fightful Select (subscription required).

Fightful Select has learned this morning that an original Raw script called for him to actually appear on tonight’s show. We’re not sure what Joe was scheduled to do or if he’ll remain on the program, but we were told it was in relation to promoting the relaunch of NXT on Tuesday night.

This past weekend, Samoa Joe announced he will be relinquishing the NXT Championship due to not being cleared by WWE medical. It’s unknown if WWE plans to still bring Joe for tonight’s program, or has scrapped the idea due to him taking a hiatus from in-ring competition.

WWE will be premiering “NXT 2.0” this Tuesday on USA Network.
