Will Samoa Joe Return To WWE?

The former NXT Champion could soon be making his return to the black and gold brand.

Samoa Joe was released from WWE in April, in a move that surprised many wrestling fans. Whilst he wasn’t active on the ring for several months prior to his departure, Joe had found himself a spot on Raw’s commentary team, where he was commended for his skills.

Following his release, fans began to speculate possible next moves for Joe, which included a return to IMPACT, an AEW debut, several dream matches, and other scenarios.

As it stands, Joe’s 90 day no-compete clause with WWE is set to end in early July, however he could soon be making his return as part of the black and gold brand.

According to Fightful Select (subscription required), numerous talents and staff within NXT have heard interest in bringing back their former world champion. It was noted that this would be for an in-ring role, and that no indication has been made to them regarding a deal between both parties.

NXT will be bringing back TakeOver: In Your House for a second year running this Sunday, however according to reports the next TakeOver will be held the day after SummerSlam, which could make for some big matches and surprises.
