Did Ronda Rousey Sign New WWE Deal?
WWE President Nick Khan appeared on the most recent episode of The Colin Cowered Podcast, speaking on several topics, including working directly with Vince McMahon, growing the company internationally, as well as planning WrestleMania 37.
Khan also spoke on two top WWE stars scheduled to return to the company, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.
“Ronda is going to be coming back at a certain point in time. Becky Lynch, she just had her first baby, she will be coming back at a certain point in time in the not too distant future” (Transcript Fightful)
Becky Lynch has been off WWE television for a year, she had her first child with fellow WWE star Seth Rollins this past December. Her last match was at Wrestlemania 36, defeating Shayna Baszler for the RAW Women’s Championship.
Rousey has last seen in a WWE ring at Wrestlemania 35, losing the RAW Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch. Her contract with the company is expiring on April 10, the first night of Wrestlemania 37.
In a statement to TMZ in 2019, a WWE representative said, “Ronda Rousey is under contract with WWE until April 10, 2021. Whether she wants to start a family is a private matter.”
In an interview with the New York Post last fall, Paul Heyman spoke on Rousey’s contact, hinting she may have extended her deal with WWE.
“Everyone presumes that Ronda Rousey’s contract expires at a certain time. I don’t understand why people don’t realize that perhaps, just perhaps, Ronda Rousey’s contract has been extended or she has worked out a new deal and it would not benefit either WWE or Ronda Rousey to go public with that information. But why wouldn’t people understand that it would be kept secret?”
Based on Nick Khan’s comments, it seemingly confirms Rousey has signed or will be singing a new deal with WWE.
