Following this week’s television, SummerSlam sits at eleven scheduled matches, with multiple planned matches being pulled from the show.

Yesterday it was revealed that the planned Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns match was pulled from the card to continue the storyline. There has been rumblings behind the scenes of Roman facing either Rowan or Buddy Murphy in a singles match, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Dave Meltzer noted in today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan are expected to have an angle at SummerSlam, but are not scheduled to wrestle each other at the show. He also added that other matches, which weren’t officially announced, but planned for the event, have been scrapped.

As of today, Ali vs. Shinsuke Nakamura is not scheduled for the event, and Aleister Black vs. Sami Zayn was put on SmackDown instead of SummerSlam due to Vince McMahon needing to fill time this past Tuesday. After Vince McMahon rewrote SmackDown, he had an hour to fill, and decided to have Zayn and Black have a match.

The company previously had the Fatal Four Way Women’s Championship Match scheduled for SummerSlam, but that was also moved to SmackDown this past Tuesday. The only other match, which hasn’t been announced yet, which may still end up on the show is Drew McIntyre vs. Cedric Alexander.
