WWE is expected to make a major announcement Tuesday regarding the future of the NXT UK brand.
According to Dave Meltzer, NXT UK talent were informed of a mandatory conference call Tuesday, June 30, but were not provided any additional details.
Multiple members of the NXT UK roster were named in serious allegations as part of the #SpeakingOut movement. It’s unknown if this call will make light of conduct within the brand. WWE released NXT UK stars Ligero and Travis Banks following reports of sexual assault.
Reports surfaced last week, indicating that WWE may have given up on the brand, and plans to fold the division.
Alex McCarthy of talkSport and Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda recently noted that WWE is not looking to shut down the promotion.
NXT UK has not filmed any new content since March, WWE Network has been airing “Best Of” matches during NXT UK episodes
As of this writing, WWE still has plans to host NXT UK Takeover: Dublin on Sunday, October 26.
