Joey Ryan has made up his mind regarding his future in professional wrestling.

Despite offers from WWE and All Elite Wrestling, Ryan stated at the Bar Wrestling event this past Thursday that he plans on staying independent.

“I choose you independent wrestling” Ryan stated. The reason for his decision is that his current gimmick would be done if he chooses to sign an exclusive deal with a major promotion.

WWE had interest in signing Ryan to the NXT brand, and eventually transition him into a coach according to Dave Meltzer at The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. According to SoCalUncensored.com, Ryan recently turned down an offer from All Elite Wrestling as well.

Joey Ryan recently was released from his Lucha Underground contract following a legal battle.
