AEW has plans for WrestleMania 43 weekend, but the announcement is waiting on WWE.
According to Fightful Select, as reported by Rajah, Sean Ross Sapp was asked in a Fightful Select Q and A when AEW will reveal its WrestleMania weekend plans. Sapp predicted the announcement will come once WWE discloses its own plans for WrestleMania 43.
Sapp said AEW has a clear idea of what it wants to do and where it wants to hold its event. He said discussions about the show have been going on since WrestleMania 43 was announced for Saudi Arabia.
WWE has only confirmed that WrestleMania 43 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in April 2027. The exact dates and venue have not been finalized, which Sapp noted is the latest WWE has ever waited to announce its WrestleMania plans.
Sapp anticipated that WWE would finally announce the dates and venue during Crown Jewel week. Crown Jewel takes place in Riyadh on November 7, so that announcement could come within the next two weeks.
AEW President Tony Khan has already signalled that something big is coming. At the AEW All Out media call, Khan said the company is planning a huge show in Spring 2027. He did not say whether it would coincide with WrestleMania 43.
WrestleMania 43 will be the first WrestleMania held outside North America. That makes the weekend a major battleground for both companies, and it explains why AEW would want its own event in the same window.
The question now is timing. AEW appears ready to move, but it is waiting for WWE to show its hand first before it announces where and when its show will take place.
What is confirmed is that AEW has a plan in mind, and that WWE has not yet announced the WrestleMania 43 dates or venue. What is not confirmed is the date, the venue, or whether AEW’s show will run on the same weekend as WrestleMania 43.
