Liv Morgan retained the Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch on Raw, after Stephanie Vaquer was pulled from the show.
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce opened the show in Fresno, California, by announcing that Vaquer was not medically cleared. Vaquer had been scheduled to face Lynch in a number one contender’s match for Morgan’s title. With that match off, Pearce gave Lynch the title match instead, in the main event of the October 26 show.
Lynch pushed Morgan hard in the main event. She countered Morgan’s Oblivion into a Manhandle Slam and looked close to winning the title. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez then interfered to break up the pin, and the referee called for the disqualification. Lynch won the match by disqualification, but Morgan kept the championship.
The finish did not settle anything. The Judgment Day attacked Lynch after the bell, before Chelsea Green and IYO SKY made the save. Tiffany Stratton then came to the ring with her Money in the Bank briefcase and hit Morgan with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. She looked ready to cash in, but Dominik Mysterio pulled Morgan out of the ring to safety before the cash-in became official.
Vaquer’s status changed quickly. Pearce had announced on Saturday that she was cleared, after an ankle injury suffered at Money in the Bank. On Raw, he said she was not cleared, and no return date was given on the show.
Morgan now heads to Crown Jewel on November 7, where she is set to face WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green for the women’s Crown Jewel Championship. Lynch and Stratton both left Raw with unfinished business against Morgan.
What is confirmed is that Vaquer was not cleared, Morgan retained by disqualification, and Stratton’s cash-in did not become official. What is not confirmed is when Vaquer will return, or whether Lynch or Stratton gets the next title match.
