WWE has filed a trademark for Ultranueva.
According to Fightful, WWE filed the application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on October 1, 2026. The filing is under International Class 041, for entertainment services.
The full description reads: “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
That wording is the same standard language WWE uses for talent names. That is why the filing reads like a name for a wrestler, a tag team, or a faction, rather than an event or a product.
What it likely means is still open. Ultranueva roughly translates to “very new” or “ultra new.” F4WOnline notes the Spanish-language term hints it could be meant for Lucha Libre AAA talent, or for international wrestlers working in NXT or on the main roster. That is speculation only. WWE has not said who the name is for, and no wrestler has debuted under that name.
What is not confirmed is the identity behind the name, whether it is a single wrestler or a team, and when, or if, it will appear on television. A trademark filing protects a name. It does not announce a debut.
