AEW has filed a trademark for For the Sickos.
According to F4WOnline, AEW filed the application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on September 14, 2026. The filing covers merchandise and live wrestling and television production.
The filing lists two classes. International Class 025 covers shirts, T-shirts, and sweatshirts. International Class 041 covers entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests, live professional wrestling performances, production of professional wrestling programs and events, a television series in the field of professional wrestling, and production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling.
AEW listed June 27, 2024 as the date the phrase was first used anywhere and in commerce. For the Sickos is the nickname for AEW’s diehard fans, and AEW president Tony Khan has used it himself, saying he books wrestling for the sickos because that is what he is and who he cares about. Shop AEW already sells a For the Sickos merchandise collection.
What the filing likely means is that AEW is formally protecting a phrase it already uses and already sells, rather than launching something new. F4WOnline notes this was AEW’s first filing in a couple of months, after Death’s Door in June.
What is not confirmed is any new product line, event, or show under the name. The filing covers the existing merch and the existing wrestling product. It does not announce a new one.
