WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino will have a park named after him in Ross Township outside the City of Pittsburgh.
The township will rename Sangree Park after the late wrestling legend, who moved to the area when he was four after his family immigrated from Italy.
According to The Patch, Ross commissioners president Dan DeMarco and members of Sammartino’s family will be speaking at the unveiling ceremony, to be held on Friday, April 23.
Sammartino remains the longest reigning world championship, holding the WWWF World Heavyweight Championship. for 2,803 days.
In 2013, Sammartino was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
Sammartino passed away from multiple organ failure due to heart issues on April 18, 2018, at the age of 82.
