All Elite Wrestling’s TNT Championship Remains Despite TBS Move
Yesterday, it was announced that AEW Dynamite would move from TNT to TBS starting January 2022, as part of AEW’s deal with WarnerMedia. Following the announcement, many speculated on the future of the TNT Championship.
According to Dave Meltzer, in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW will keep the TNT Championship name, despite Dynamite moving to TBS next year.
AEW’s TNT Championship was introduced at the end of March 2020, Cody Rhodes was the inaugural winner of the title, with only four people holding the title since its incarnation.
Miro recently won the title, defeating Darby Allin on the 5/12 edition of AEW Dynamite.
Yesterday’s announcement also revealed AEW will also debut a new one-hour weekly show titled Rampage, debuting on Friday, August 13th, at 10 p.m ET on TNT.
