Injury Sidelined Chelsea Green’s Big Debut
Chelsea Green made her long-awaited official main roster debut during last week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Unfortunately she suffered injury, and is now back on the shelf healing.
According to Fightful Select (subscription required), Vince McMahon had a meeting with Chelsea Green, informing her plans the company had to bring her to SmackDown. The meeting reportedly went positive, and creative plans also included either a change in name or a new nickname given to Green.
The name that was proposed was “Victorious”, with internal SmackDown rundowns listening both Green and “Victorious”. Some within the company felt there could be issues with trademarking the name.
Chelsea Green was originally planned to win the match, moving to Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. After the match she was scheduled to have a post-match promo where she would debut the “Victorious” moniker.
Green suffered a broken wrist early in the match, and had to undergo surgery. It’s unknown how long she will be out of action.
Just like the rest of my career, I couldn’t have an easy debut! LOL, that just wouldn’t be fit for my wild journey.
I’m headed into surgery now. I am beyond devastated but so excited to be a part of @WWE team SmackDown, when I get back! 💙— CHELSEA GREEN (@ImChelseaGreen) November 14, 2020
