Prior to NXT Takeover: In Your House an incident took place involving Shawn Michaels and another producer.
According to Fightful Select (subscription required), Shawn Michaels was involved in a heated discussion with another NXT producer regarding the current social climate surrounding racial injustice.
According to the report, the said producer stated “everyone already gets treated the same”, which made Michaels upset. Michaels explained inequality and systemic prejudice, which caused the discussion to become very heated.
Many wrestlers were made aware of the argument the next day, and reveal that Michaels was professional, and continued to work with the producer during the event.
The name of the other producer was not revealed.
Following Sunday’s event, Triple H held a talent meeting regarding ‘Black Lives Matter’, stating he wants everyone in WWE to matter, regardless of race, religion, language, culture, or orientation.
Vince McMahon sent a company wide email last week supporting diversity in the WWE.
