After more than a year trying to get our of their WWE contract, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson of The Revival have been granted their immediate release, the company announced Friday.
The pair will not be subject to a 90-day no compete clause, and are free to work anywhere they want immediately according to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet.
Effective today, Friday April 10, 2020, WWE and The Revival have agreed on their immediate release from WWE. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
Wilder and Dawson were sent home in March, without pay, as they had exhausted their downside guarantees.
Scott Dawson’s WWE contract was set to expire this month, while Wilder was extended an additional ten weeks due to injury.
Last year, the company offered $550,000 each per-year to the pair to sign new contracts with the WWE.
The company has also offered a reduction in dates for the team, as they worked in excess of 150 shows in 2019.
Over the last several months, Dawson and Wilder have filed several trademarks via attorney Michael E. Dockins of Shumaker Loop & Kendrick.
The pair have filed the following trademarks with The United States Patent and Trademark office.
- Say Yeah
- Shatter Machine
- FTRKO
- Top Guys
- No Flips, Just Fists
- Cash Wheeler (filed by Dash Wilder separately)
Michael Dockins has been the go-to lawyer for several wrestlers to secure trademarks including Shawn Spears, Jon Moxley, Charlotte Flair, Joey Janela, and Cody.
The Revival were last on WWE television during the 1/31 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
