AEW commentator Jim Ross is home and recovering after a recent hospital stay. The WWE Hall of Famer was hospitalized last week after dealing with low oxygen levels.
Conrad Thompson, Ross’s co-host on the Grilling JR podcast, gave the update on this week’s episode. Thompson said Ross had been dealing with a mild chest cold and an infection in his chest, and that low oxygen was the reason he spent a night in the hospital.
“I finally got an update on the Voice of Wrestling, Mr. Jim Ross,” Thompson said. “He’s got some sort of infection in his chest. They said that his oxygen was low, so he spent the night in the hospital, but I’m happy to report that he is home and on the mend.”
Ross has dealt with several health issues in recent years, including past hospital stays and skin cancer treatment. He has continued to call AEW pay-per-view events and select Dynamite episodes when his health allows, while working a reduced schedule.
What is confirmed is that Ross is home and recovering. Thompson did not give a date for his return to commentary, and AEW has not announced when Ross will be back on television.
Ross remains one of the most respected voices in wrestling history, and his absence from recent shows is why the update drew attention across the wrestling world.
