Claudio Castagnoli was stretchered out of the arena after a brutal beatdown on Fright Night Dynamite.
The attack came during a wild brawl between The Cut and the Death Riders on the October 28 episode in St. Louis, Missouri. Earlier in the night, The Cut’s Jay White and David Finlay beat Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia in a tag team match, after Clark Connors speared Garcia and White hit the Blade Runner for the win.
Moxley then grabbed a microphone and challenged The Cut to an Anarchy in the Arena match at Full Gear on November 14. That challenge set up the later brawl, which spilled around ringside and into the crowd area.
The Cut attacked Moxley from behind while he was on commentary for Marina Shafir’s match. The Death Riders came out to help, including Castagnoli, Gabe Kidd, Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. The Cut overpowered them, and Castagnoli was hit in the head with a shillelagh by Finlay.
White then held Moxley so he had to watch as The Cut exposed the concrete floor outside the ring. White hit the Blade Runner on Castagnoli on the concrete, and Castagnoli had to be carried out on a stretcher to the backstage area.
The angle leaves the Death Riders at a disadvantage heading into Full Gear, with one of their key members taken out on television. The Anarchy in the Arena match is now on the Full Gear card, though the full teams for the match have not been announced yet.
What is confirmed is the beatdown on Dynamite, the stretcher spot, and Moxley’s Full Gear challenge. What is not confirmed is how long Castagnoli will be off television, or who will fill out both teams for the match.
