WWE is planning to celebrate 30 years of The Rock this month, marking the anniversary of his debut at Survivor Series 1996.
According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, the plans include a commemorative championship belt, special merchandise and social media campaigns honoring the anniversary. The Rock made his WWE debut as Rocky Maivia at Survivor Series 1996 at Madison Square Garden on November 17, 1996.
There is no word on whether The Rock himself will appear on television as part of the celebration. He has not wrestled since WrestleMania 40 and has not appeared on WWE programming since Elimination Chamber in Toronto in 2025, where John Cena turned heel and aligned with him.
The Rock is still involved with the company through his seat on the TKO Board of Directors. A report in September said WWE creative is working on the assumption he will be unavailable for any substantial WrestleMania 43 storyline, though plans involving him have changed quickly before.
The anniversary falls ahead of Survivor Series on November 28 in Houston, where the Bloodline is expected to face the 946 in a WarGames match and John Cena is already scheduled to appear. WWE marked the 25th anniversary of The Rock’s debut at Survivor Series 2021.
No design, price or release date has been reported for the commemorative belt, and no appearance by The Rock has been announced.
What is confirmed is the planned celebration and the merchandise and belt. What is not confirmed is whether The Rock shows up on television this month, or what role, if any, he plays at Survivor Series.
