Backstage Belief Is Steve Cutler Contracted COVID-19 Following NYE Party
Former ‘Knights Of The Lone Wolf’ and ‘Forgotten Sons’ member Steve Cutler was released from WWE last night after recently returning to television.
Cutler’s girlfriend and current Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo confirmed that they had both tested positive for COVID-19 at the beginning of January.
Following his release, Fightful Select reported Steve Cutler had heat from Vince McMahon following the diagnosis.
.@SteveCutlerWWE & I had tested positive for COVID, the beginning of January. We had no symptoms but took all precautions necessary.

Thanks for the well wishes but we are healthy and in good spirits. When one door closes, another opens. ❤️
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer added that it is believed the two tested positive from a New Year’s Eve party, and because Vince McMahon promised talent such as Roman Reigns a safe working environment and Cutler was around talent, this lead to his release.
“This was said to be a disciplinary reason that got Vince McMahon livid when he heard about it.” Meltzer stated. “The belief is that it had to do with his New Year’s Eve party that led to that and that McMahon had promised a few wrestlers like Reigns a safe environment when he returned and Cutler was around all the talent.”
Cutler had agreed to bump for the big guys at the Performance Center, even showing up on the day he was released from the company.
