Multiple Round Matches Pitched For WWE Television

Earlier this week Vince McMahon made changes to the way RAW will be presented on television.

The original report from Bryan Alvarez indicated Vince McMahon did not want any wrestling to occur during commercial breaks on RAW. John Pollock of Post Wrestling added to the report, stating that traditional sports do not continue during commercial breaks, which is the reason behind the change.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that Vince McMahon wants all matches to end within the same segment, and not run over multiple segments, or have multiple falls, with each fall happening during one segment.

Johnson is also reporting that one source indicates that trying matches with multiple rounds has been pitched as well. “Trying matches with multiple rounds has also been pitched at some point in the last few weeks.” Johnson stated. “Similar to the old European rounds system, but there is no word yet that idea will be executed.

It will be interesting to see how WWE handles production tomorrow on RAW in Everett, WA. Whether they choose to have shorter matches that end during a segment, or have more 2 out of 3 fall matches.
